The BCSD Student Help Desk team is a student intern program created and maintained by the district’s Educational Technology Department.

Vision
To create a technological community that fosters professional growth, collaboration, and adds to the department's ability to support teaching and learning.

Goals

  • To provide a real world experience for students (College and Career Readiness)

  • To encourage awareness of and skill in G Suite for Education
  • To encourage a community of collaboration and growth

  • To provide both in and out of classroom assistance for technology initiatives

  • To provide training opportunities for faculty, staff and students

  • To promote creative problem solving

  • To promote effective interpersonal communication skills and responsible use of social media

This program, modeled after several successful progressive school districts taps into students’ native technology interest and know-how and provides them with real-life work experiences and professional mentoring opportunities.

The Student Help Desk is located right around the corner from the Educational Technology Department and is staffed to the extent possible throughout the day. If you have students who you think could benefit from being a part of our team, encourage them to apply!

Apply to be part of our Student Help Desk
Beekmantown Central School District is seeking middle and high school students who would like to be part of our Student Help Desk. As part of the BCSD Educational Technology Department, the student’s job at the help-desk will be to serve as a first line of support. The student help-desk will be crucial in managing the questions, concerns, and problems that our users experience on a daily basis. In addition to staffing the help-desk, these students will also be responsible for providing technical support to middle and high school classrooms and labs as well as working on independent projects. All middle and high school students in good academic standing are eligible to apply using the link below when the application cycle is open.

Our goal is to maintain 30-35 students in the student help desk program. If you are interested but have more questions, please contact the Director of 21st Century Learning, Gary Lambert or Mr. Robert Barcomb, advisor to the student help desk.
