We are excited to report that we successfully concluded the search for our new High School Principal and are happy to announce Matthew Bezio as the next Principal of the Beekmantown High School, effective July 15, 2018.

Principal Bezio, originally from Peru, NY, served as Assistant Principal within the Palm Beach County School District at Atlantic Community High School in Delray Beach, Florida. Prior to that he was an administrator with the district as a Single School Culture Coordinator at a Title 1 High School within the Palm Beach County School District at Boynton Beach Community High School in Boynton Beach, Florida. He additionally was a school site Administrator on Assignment, Reading Coach, ELA Department Chair and Reading teacher at Boynton Beach Community High School over his educational tenure of 10 years. At Boynton Beach Community High School, he also coordinated several school-wide initiatives centered around college readiness and school-wide positive behavior culture. We are thrilled for Matthew to join our school community and are confident he will enhance what we offer our student at BHS.

We remain thankful for three great years from Principal Gardner’s leadership. His dedicated service to our students, programming, teachers and commitment to our mission made a significant impact on hundreds of students, alumni, parents and teachers.

The search committee was comprised of three phases outlined in our Board adopted procedure. Phase one was the administrative team, phase two was the stakeholder’s committee which included a cross section of our community including administration, teachers, Board member, support staff, students and parents. Phase three was the entire Board of Education. We are thankful to the committee for their voluntary commitment to this worthwhile process.

Please find the time to welcome Mathew, his wife Gabriella and their two-month old son Harrison to the Beekmantown School District.
