Remote Teaching, Learning & Tech Support Resources
Beekmantown CSD's Department of 21st Century Learning has been working hard to provide enhanced support services to our school community during this period of remote teaching and learning. We recognize that all of us are vital partners in supporting our students' education. As such, we are providing a variety of tech support services, Chromebook repair & wireless hotspot issuing. Please take advantage of these resources to let us help you.
Live Chat Tech Support
The Department of 21st Century Learning, in collaboration with the BCSD Student Help Desk, aka the BeekSquad, has teamed up to provide live, chat-based, general tech support for parents, students and staff. Staff will monitor this support site from 8 am until 4 pm Monday through Friday. Expanded hours may be possible based on availability. To access the live tech support page, please visit:
We appreciate all you are doing on the homefront to support your child(ren)’s education. With your help and cooperation we will get through this and come out stronger than before as a school community.
For Wireless Hotspot Reservation
The Beekmantown Central School District is offering a limited number of free wireless hotspot devices to students who do not have Internet access at home. These wireless hotspots (called Kajeets) enable students to “check out” Internet service for up to two weeks at a time—absolutely free. Both the device and monthly service fees are fully paid by the district. The program is intended to help BCSD students access online resources at home to help bridge the digital divide and ensure educational equity. To ensure peace of mind, these devices use internet content filtering and are scheduled so that they cannot be used between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. The borrowing limit is one device per household, but these devices can be signed out repeatedly throughout the year.
We ask that parents or guardians fill out the reservation form linked below. By signing this form, the parent agrees to assume all responsibility for equipment signed out to the student. A replacement fee of $99 will be charged if the device is lost, damaged or not returned.
Please note that you must have a reliable and strong cellular service where you live in order for the Kajeets to work properly.
Additionally, Spectrum Communications is currently offering free broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription. To enroll call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for these customers.
