Student Portal FAQ

Do I need any special software to use the Student Portal?
To effectively access your Student Portal account you will need:

1. Computer or mobile device with Internet access - A minimum dial-up modem speed of 56Kbs – a slower connection will work but not as well.

2. The company hosting the Parent Portal recommends using Internet Explorer 7 or 8 or Safari 3.0 or 4.0. Schooltool may still be accessible using unsupported operating systems and browsers (i.e., Firefox), but there is no guarantee functionality, performance, or security if the minimum requirements are not met.

3. Adobe Reader – This is a free document reader available for download on the web http://get.adobe.com/reader/ There are some reports that require the Adobe Reader.

Where do I get my login information for the Student Portal
Since the Student Portal is connected directly to the Beekmantown CSD network, you will use your normal network userid and password to access it. If you have forgotten your network login credentials, please visit the EdTech office with your student access card as proof of identification. Your userid and password will be given to you there.

Can I access Student Portal from anywhere (Home, Work, Library ...)?
Yes. As long as you meet the minimum computer and Internet access requirements. Obviously you will also need to make sure you have Internet Access from your location, but we assume you already knew that.

What if the Student Portal shows an incorrect grade or attendance information?
You will want to contact your Guidance Counselor and/or Teacher so that they can make any necessary corrections on their end.
