Scope of Work
Voters in the Beekmantown Central School District approved an $18 Million Capital Project on January 17, 2017. This capital project has four main cornerstones:
- Educational Space Enhancements
- Traffic Safety Improvements
- Athletic Field Upgrades
- Infrastructure Upgrades
Summer 2018 capital project work focused on site improvements to the main campus, such as a re-constructed school bus loop, parking areas and drainage systems. Additional sidewalks were constructed as part of pedestrian and traffic safety enhancements.
Capital project work that's been underway calendar year 2019 is focused on construction of a new large group instruction classroom for middle school and high school use, elementary school main entry enhancements including passive security features, a dedicated elementary school cafeteria and serving line for students that is apart from the elementary school gymnasium. Other capital project work that's underway includes electrical, mechanical and plumbing system upgrades within the buildings, plus improvements to the athletic and physical education facilities at the main campus. Examples: A new synthetic turf field and updated physical fitness facilities for students and community members, such as tennis/pickle ball courts and an outdoor track for running and walking, at the main campus. Cumberland Head Elementary School is also be receiving various facilities upgrades.
