Troy Anderson
My name is Troy Anderson, and I am running for re-election to the Beekmantown Central School District school board. Our family moved to the BCSD in 2018 and we have four children attending school. Our sons are presently in 11th, 7th, 5th and 3rd grades. I am seeking re-election to the school board because I continue to believe in strong schools, education, and the future of our community. We have made good progress these last three years in BCSD re-building trust, transparency, and an overall better environment for our children. But there is still much to be done – changes in policy, retaining staff, and safety for our staff and student, to name a few.I believe in promoting the board’s vision and goals to ensure the best outcomes for the students during their time in our schools and preparing children for life beyond the classroom. I believe we can offer a first a class education to our children while building the finest school system in the north country.I believe my unique professional skill set and demonstrated commitment to public service allows me to make a meaningful contribution to our BCSD community and the significant role it plays in overseeing and managing our public schools while ensuring the district is responsive to the needs of the community it serves. My wife, Catherine and I moved to the Town of Plattsburgh during the summer of 2018. I grew up in and graduated high school from a very rural area in eastern Ohio. I graduated from the Ohio State University and New England Law | Boston (Massachusetts). I am a retired Captain with the U.S. Army, where I served as an Intelligence Officer in U.S. Army Special Forces. I am a veteran of Afghanistan. Since 2018 I have been serving as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of New York in the Plattsburgh office. Prior to that I was an Assistant District Attorney in Suffolk County (Boston) Massachusetts. I also spent time working as a civilian for the Department of Defense – Special Operations in Afghanistan and subsequently for Department of State – Counterterrorism Bureau in East Africa (Somalia), following my military career. In my prior roles I have consistently revised and written new policy while serving in leadership positions with the responsibility over large budgets, personnel, and equipment.
Since 2021, I have taught undergraduate classes at Plattsburgh State University and found that to be one of the most rewarding experiences in my professional career. Our family feels fortunate to be part of the BCSD community and I wish to continue to bring my outside professional and life experience to contribute to the board and the important work it does.
Jenna Drollette
I’m running for the Beekmantown School Board because I believe that strong, successful schools promote strong, successful communities. I grew up in this area and have firsthand experience with the unique strengths of rural school districts in tight-knit communities. Those strengths include solid relationships between students, families, and staff, meaningful opportunities for all students to participate in a variety of activities, and the school's role as a central hub for local families. The success of the Beekmantown School District is directly tied to the well-being of our entire community.Since moving back to the area in 2021, I’ve sought meaningful ways to contribute to the community that align with my experience in education. Serving on the school board is a natural extension of that commitment. As a parent of two children in the district, I’ve seen the positive impact of initiatives that directly support student success, including free breakfast and lunch for all students, free school supplies, dental care, Beekmantown Adventure Zone programming, and Extended Learning Time opportunities. As a member of the school board, I will ensure that those efforts are grown and sustained into the future. At the same time, strong school districts need to look for opportunities to improve. As a member of the school board, I will contribute thoughtful leadership, data-informed decision-making, open-mindedness, and a willingness to support creative solutions to support Beekmantown’s continued success. I am an educator, a mother, and a proud member of this community. I grew up in the North Country and graduated from Peru High School in 2008. After college, I began my career in education as a reading interventionist and certified educational therapist, providing one-on-one interventions to students with a variety of complex learning needs. In that work, I experienced firsthand how the right support can influence a student’s academic trajectory. I later earned a Master’s in Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Since then, I have focused my career on initiatives to connect education research, policy, and practice in order to achieve widespread adoption of practices that drive student and teacher success and promote well-being. I live on Cumberland Head with my husband, a 2009 graduate of Beekmantown, and our two children, who are both students at Cumberland Head Elementary School. Being a parent in the district has deepened my appreciation for the dedication of our teachers, staff, and administration. Outside of work, I love reading, exercising, camping, and playing basketball. I also love meeting people, so feel free to introduce yourself if you see me around!

My wife, Colleen, and I have lived in the Beekmantown School District for over 40 years. We are both passionate about ensuring children in the district have excellent educational opportunities. If elected to the Board of Education, I will bring 41 years of experience as a teacher, principal, superintendent, and board member to the table to help us reach good decisions for students and taxpayers. My experience with school finance will be an additional asset for the Board. During my career as an educator, I have focused on doing what is right for students. Making decisions that help students learn and grow. I look forward to continuing along this path as a school board member. I believe that there will be some difficult financial and educational decisions to make over the next few years. I know my background in education and school finance will be beneficial in helping find a balance between student programs, staff needs, and the taxpayers' ability to fund the school.
Matthew Jock
My name is Matthew Jock and I'm seeking election to the Beekmantown Central School District Board of Education. I am committed to supporting the process of building strong academics, safe school environments, and meaningful community engagement, all grounded in transparency and fiscal responsibility. My wife, Candace, and I have lived in the Beekmantown School District for 20 years and both of our children have attended Beekmantown schools. Our youngest will be graduating this spring. I've seen firsthand the positive impact the district has had on our family, and I believe Beekmantown provides an excellent standard of education. While my professional background is not in education, I believe that brings value to the board through a fresh perspective and new approaches. I was raised in St. Lawrence County and moved to this area to attend SUNY Plattsburgh, where I graduated in 2001. I began my career with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services before joining the New York State Police, where I have served for nearly 22 years and currently hold the rank of Senior Investigator. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with local school districts, administrators, and other professional agencies. These working experiences have helped strengthen my commitment to public service and given me insight into the challenges and opportunities schools face today. I am also a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. The military helped shape my leadership, accountability and teamwork skills - all strong qualities I will bring to the Board. As I prepare to retire this summer from full-time work, I look forward to dedicating more time to my family, my personal goals, and continued service to our community. I am eager to bring my experience working with school districts and outside agencies to help strengthen our district while ensuring it aligns the values and expectations of our community.

I work closely with administrators, business officials, and board of directors to ensure that resources are aligned with schools’ priorities while maintaining transparency and accountability to taxpayers. This perspective has given me a deep appreciation for the complexity of school district governance and the critical role boards play in setting direction, supporting leadership, and ensuring best outcomes for students and staff. I am eager for the opportunity to contribute my personal and professional experience in financial stewardship, strategic planning, school safety, and participate with others to support the continued success of the Beekmantown Central School District.

I'm running because I believe our school district benefits when board members bring fresh perspectives and ask hard questions. As a parent of two elementary school students, I have a direct stake in the decisions this board makes -- and with roughly ten years ahead of me in this district's schools, I'm invested in the long-term direction, not just today. I don't come with a preconceived agenda. What I do come with is a commitment to three principles: accountability, transparency, and fiscal responsibility. Our district manages a budget approaching $60 million and oversees major capital projects -- yet much of that work happens without broad community understanding. Taxpayers deserve to understand where their money goes, and parents deserve to see how board decisions connect to their child's classroom. My background is in engineering and manufacturing, not education -- and I think that's an asset. I bring a problem-solving and operational excellence mindset without the bias of "how it's always been done." I've spent 25 years managing budgets, leading teams, and running complex operations. I'm used to asking hard questions, and I'm not afraid to ask them here. I want to help make sure our schools are always getting better. I grew up in the area, moved away for career opportunities, and returned in late 2024 with my family because this is where we wanted to raise our kids. I'm a parent of two children in the district, and our family is actively involved in youth sports throughout the year. Professionally, I hold two engineering degrees and an MBA. I've spent 25 years in engineering and manufacturing, leading large teams and managing complex projects across several industries. My work involves multi-million-dollar project management spanning development, facilities, and production -- skills that translate directly to school board governance. Beyond my career, I'm committed to serving the broader community. I currently sit on the Clinton Community College Foundation board and the CITEC board. I've mentored FIRST Robotics, and coached youth rugby and weightlifting. I'm a certified College and Career Readiness Advisor through UVM/CFES, and a member of SARNAK Search and Rescue. I'm running because I believe in this community and in our schools. I want to use my skills and experience to help ensure our district is accountable, transparent, and responsible with the resources entrusted to it.
