EdTech Updates #1 - 2025 July 14
Classwize, Linewize & MagicSchool AI
1. ClassWize Training Opportunities
As previously communicated, we have transitioned from SecURly Classroom to ClassWize beginning starting on July 1st. ClassWize complements our new LineWize filtering solution and will provide enhanced classroom management capabilities.
Why ClassWize?
This transition will empower you with greater control over your classroom technology environment. ClassWize will enable you to:
- Have more control over websites that may be blocked, giving you flexibility when educational content is restricted during your class
- Better monitor student activity on school devices
- Keep students focused on the content you are teaching by providing full-screen visibility on all school-issued devices
- Create a safer, more efficient, and distraction-free learning environment
Summer Training Options
Live Summer Training Sessions: Multiple training sessions are available throughout the summer to help you maximize ClassWize features. All registrants will receive both the session recording and a Q&A document. Since all sessions cover the same content, you only need to register for one that fits your schedule.
Registration: https://sites.google.com/linewize.com/learning-resources/summer-training-sessions/classwize
On-Demand Resources: For those who prefer self-paced learning, comprehensive resources are available including implementation considerations, best practices, and frequently asked questions.

2. Linewize Filtering Platform Update
Our new Linewize filtering platform is now up and running! Moving forward, any website domain (specific URL) that was not explicitly requested prior to June 30th on the K-8 Google spreadsheets will need to have a Tech Help ticket submitted at www.bcsdk12.org/techhelp. This is the only way that sites will be explicitly added to the allowlist.
Important Note About YouTube
Due to NYSED EdLaw 2D requirements, YouTube sites cannot be explicitly allowlisted through any filtering platform. However, we have a solution for you!
YouTube Embedding Solution: This brief instructional video demonstrates an easy and effective method for embedding YouTube videos in Google Classroom, ensuring students can view content without requiring independent YouTube access.
