PROPOSITION I
(Budget)

 

To approve the proposed 2022-2023 school budget in the amount of $49,003,123 and to authorize the requisite portion therefore to be raised by taxation on the taxable property of the District.

 

PROPOSITION II
(Transportation)

 

Shall the Board of Education of the Beekmantown Central School District be authorized to purchase and finance four (4) student transportation vehicles, including necessary furnishings, fixtures and equipment and all other costs incidental thereto, and expend a total sum not to exceed $500,000, which is estimated to be the total maximum cost thereof, and said amount, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be raised by the levy of a tax upon the taxable property of said School District and collected in annual installments as provided by Section 416 of the Education Law; and, in anticipation of such tax, obligations of said School District, in the principal amount not to exceed $500,000, shall be issued. This purchase is subject to a State Aid transportation reimbursement ratio of 75%. Additionally, the district will trade or sell four (4) school buses.


 

PROPOSITION III

(Capital Reserve Proposition)

Shall the Board of Education of the Beekmantown Central School District establish a new ten-year capital reserve pursuant to Section 3651 of the Education Law in an amount not to exceed $600,000 to be used for the acquisition of machinery and equipment for and the construction and reconstruction of improvements and additions to all District buildings, transportation facilities and grounds, such reserve fund to be funded from year-end budget surplus funds known as unassigned fund balance, as available, for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022 and each fiscal year thereafter for the term of the reserve fund, (ii) transfers of excess monies from Board of Education designated reserves, (iii) amounts from budgetary appropriations from time to time, and (iv) New York State Aid received and made available by the Board of Education from time to time, all as permitted by law.

 

PROPOSITION IV

(Board of Education Members)

 

To elect five (5) members to the Board of Education.  The top candidate receiving the highest number of votes will fill a three-year term + 45 days remaining on the unexpired term of Kristopher Michaud (5/17/22 - 6/30/25).  The candidates receiving the second and third highest number of votes will fill the expired terms of Cheryl MacKenzie and Crystal Palmer for three-year terms (7/1/22 - 6/30/25).  The 4th highest number of votes will fill the unexpired term of Mark Sand commencing 5/17/22 - 6/30/24.  The 5th highest number of votes will fill the unexpired term of Pauline Stone commencing 5/17/22 - 6/30/23.
