Classroom Addition Takes Shape as Major Foundation Work Moves Forward
Beekmantown Central School District’s Capital Improvement Project continues to make visible progress, with important work advancing at both the main campus classroom addition and Cumberland Head Elementary School.
During the latest reporting period, crews completed the East and West foundation walls for the new classroom addition. Interior foundation backfilling has also been completed, and the concrete slab has been prepared, poured, and polished. This marks an exciting step forward as the project begins to move from below-ground foundation work toward a more recognizable building structure.
Site work is also continuing around the new addition. Crews are backfilling and compacting the area around the foundation and have started grading work for the future playground area. This work helps prepare the site for the next phases of construction and supports the long-term layout of the improved campus space.
At Cumberland Head Elementary School, progress continues on kitchen-related improvements. Work has included preparation for the new rooftop kitchen unit, installation of a roof curb, gas-line and vent-line work, and adjustments to kitchen lighting to support the mechanical work taking place.
