Parking and Traffic
It is crucial that we all follow traffic and parking rules in the school’s parking lots and driveways to keep everyone safe.
The speed limit is 10 mph everywhere on school grounds. Please follow all stop signs and other traffic indicators like arrows on the ground and specific signage.
When dropping off and picking up students, following the traffic rules will help everyone get in and out as quickly as possible without holding up others and causing unneeded stress.

Beekmantown Campus
Main Parking Area
Traffic flow is high and constant in the main lot at the Beekmantown campus, so being intentionally safe becomes even more important. We must all be patient, respectful and mindful when driving and parking here.
Parking Lot A: Front Elementary Side
Who can park here: Students with parking passes, staff, visitors in clearly marked visitor spots
Traffic flow: During middle and high school drop-off times, all students being dropped off should use this lot, and drivers should follow the signs.
During elementary drop-off time, this lot should be used for drop-off when parents need to get out to unbuckle kids, help them get out of car seats, or otherwise take time beyond a quick drop-off.
When you drop off your child:
- Please pull all the way in rather than going halfway in. This allows other traffic to go around you, rather than stopping everyone behind you.
- Please don’t ever block the sidewalk.
All student pick-up should happen in this lot.
Parking Lot B: Front High School Side

Traffic flow: The first lane allows two-way traffic. The second two parking lot lanes only allow for one-way traffic. Please pay attention to the arrows painted on the pavement.

During elementary drop-off time in the morning, this lot should be used to drop off students should be ready to hop out and and go. A staff member helps students cross at the crosswalk on the BES side.
This lot should not be used for pick-up for any students.
Students with medical needs at drop-off/pick-up must coordinate in advance with their school administrator for permission and a plan to use this lot during prohibited hours.
Bus Loop
During bus drop-off and pick-up times, it is incredibly dangerous for other vehicles to be in the bus loop. Never drive in the bus loop 7-9 a.m. and 2-3:45 p.m.
Signs posted at the entrance to the loop make it clear that no one is allowed in the loop during those times.
Outside of the marked hours, cars are welcome to use the bus loop if they are cautious and careful of pedestrians.
Middle School Loop
Caregivers are welcome to drop off middle school students at the middle school entrance at the beginning of the day. When in use, the middle school loop should be used as a one-way, two-lane road. Cars that will turn right when leaving the loop should use the right lane, and cars that will turn left when leaving the loop should use the left lane.
During the school day, any parents, guardians or other visitors will need to enter through the main entrance and check in with the front desk.
Buses are parked in the loop for dismissal, so cars should not enter the loop 2-3 p.m. We encourage pick-up in Parking Lot A. If you choose to pick your child up on the middle school side of the building, please be cautious on Haynes Road and be aware of any pedestrians crossing the street.
