Beekmantown High School makes AP Honor Roll again

Beekmantown High School makes AP Honor Roll again

Congratulations to BHS for its Bronze award!

The AP School Honor Roll has recognized Beekmantown High School as a member of the College Board’s AP School Honor Roll for the second year in a row.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that develop an AP program “that creates a college-going culture and gives students opportunities to earn college credit and to maximize their college outcomes,” according to the certificate given to BHS.

As a Bronze school, BHS meets the following criteria for the 2024-2025 school year:

  • College Culture: BHS enables 48% of the current senior class to take one AP course before graduating.
  • College Credit: BHS helps with college affordability by enabling 30% of the Class of 2026 to earn college credit by earning an AP Exam score of 3.
  • College Optimization: BHS optimizes students’ college readiness by creating opportunities for 7% of the senior class to take a total of 5 AP exams across their high school years, with at least one taken in 9th or 10th grade.

"Receiving the AP School Honor Roll is a tremendous honor for our school,” said BHS Principal Matthew Bezio. “This recognition is a direct result of the collective dedication and hard work of our teachers and staff, administration, students, parents/guardians, and Board of Education. Together, we have built a culture of excellence that supports student achievement at the highest level.”

This is the second year in a row that BHS has been honored on the AP School Honor Roll. The school was named a Silver level awardee for the 2023-24 school year.

Beekmantown Central School District is located in Clinton County and is composed of the town of Beekmantown, and parts of the towns of Altona, Chazy and Plattsburgh. At BHS, students have access to 9 AP courses, and 7 of the faculty teach AP classes.
