BMS Volunteers for North Country Honor Flight

BMS Volunteers for North Country Honor Flight

For the second time, Beekmantown CSD 7th graders are partnering with the North Country Honor Flight in recognizing our local veterans on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

Community members can be a part of Honor Flight’s final spring send-off ceremony and usher in the summer with this year’s Honor Run 5K & 1 Mile US Oval Walk.

The Honor Flight will leave Plattsburgh immediately following the ceremony, and our runners/walkers will join the veterans for a portion of their parade route. This is an incredible opportunity for the community to show its appreciation for their service. Runners are encouraged to wear their most patriotic running apparel and be a part of this memorable race.

Seventh grade class officers are volunteering their time to email and call businesses for donations, designing the logo, helping in any ways possible. The last time Beekmantown was able to spearhead the North Country was in 2019. Now, those former 7th graders are in the 2024 senior class, and they are helping with the current 7th grade class with organizing for this year’s Honor Flight.

All proceeds will benefit North Country Honor Flight.

The Honor Flight ceremony begins promptly at 7 a.m. The race will start at the conclusion of the ceremony at 8:00am. Check-in is from 6:30-7:30 a.m. on race day to allow runners the opportunity to observe the Honor Flight ceremony prior to the race if they wish. The registration fee for the 5K is $20 (18 and under) /$25 (18+) in advance (online) and $25 (18 and under) /$30 (18+) on race day. Registration for the 1 Mile U.S. Oval Walk is $20. There is no cost for kids 5 and under.

Registration for the race includes a North Country Honor Run 5K & 1 Mile t-shirt (while supplies last). Prizes will be awarded to the top three runners and best dressed!

Sign up today here: For those who cannot participate in the run and want to support the North Country Honor Flight, you can make a donation at the preceding link.

All community members are encouraged to come and support, regardless if they are participating in the race!
