Hudson Headwaters Provides Dental Care For Students

Beekmantown Central School District proudly announces its partnership with Hudson Headwaters Healthy Smiles School Based Dental Program to provide comprehensive preventive dental services and oral health education to students. Through this collaboration, students in the Beekmantown Central School District will have access to vital dental care resources conveniently within their school premises.

The Hudson Headwaters Healthy Smiles School Based Dental Program is dedicated to promoting oral health and wellness among children. Leveraging portable dental equipment, our experienced dental team delivers a range of services including in-class presentations, dental screenings, cleanings, sealants, and fluoride treatments. Additionally, each student will receive a "goody bag" containing essential dental supplies and an Oral Health Report form detailing the services provided, along with referrals for any further dental needs.

Open to students from Pre-K through 12th grade, the Healthy Smiles program ensures that every child has the opportunity to receive high-quality dental care. Participation requires a signed consent form from a parent or guardian, and all services are offered at no out-of-pocket cost to families. For those with dental insurance, Hudson Headwaters will handle billing directly, ensuring a seamless experience without any disruption to services. For families without dental insurance, services are provided completely free of charge.

The Healthy Smiles program is scheduled to visit Beekmantown Central School District in September/October 2024. Prior to the visit, each student will receive a consent packet for enrollment, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to benefit from this invaluable program.

"We are thrilled to partner with Beekmantown Central School District to bring our Healthy Smiles program to their students," said Piperlea Chico, RDH, Director of the Hudson Headwaters Healthy Smiles School Based Dental Program. "By offering preventive dental care and education directly within the school environment, we aim to make dental health services more accessible and convenient for families, ultimately contributing to improved overall health and well-being among the student population."
